Default Red Cobb survey....re:.PIEDMONT 460/42 enigma ?

I am reprising here the last updated listing from the Red Cobb survey. As several Net54er's have been surprised by
the 12 reported PIEDMONT 460 Factory 42 (P460/42) inputs out of 266 total T206 Red Cobb inputs. This unexpec-
ted amount of inputs for this rare T206 back can be explained by the following factors......

1....The Red Cobb is one of the 6 Super Printed cards in the T206 set. Furthermore, because of Cobb's tremendous
popularity (he led the Major Lges, batting .377, .385 & .420 during the T206 Red Cobb era....1909, 1910 and 1911,
respectively), I believe many of the Red Cobb backs were Double Printed (and perhaps, even Triple Printed).

2....Focusing on this survey, the responses in the first 4 days produced 10 P460/42 inputs. Primarily from advanced
T206 (or Cobb) collectors on this forum. Understandably, these folks (including me) were anxious to report their Red
Cobb with the rare P460/42 back.
Now, in the 2 months of subsequent reporting of Red Cobb's, only TWO more have been reported. This fact tells me
that, we Net54er's have cornered the market on this rare back (with respect to the Red Cobb).

Therefore, I DO NOT find these P460/42 numbers, at all, unusual. I guess this is because I have a lot of respect for
the collector know-how of most of the Net54 posters and readers in acquiring these rare T206 backs.

UPDATED upon request to include Red Cobb new inputs from 5/26 to 6/26 across all the 30 T-advertising backs.

Hey Net54er's....this card is not that far-fetched....Cobb is quoted as saying...."Baseball was like War"....

There was a Victory Cobb in one of the auction houses-maybe Huggins?

I think the old thread had a link in its last post to a Red Hindu you might have missed in the survey Ted.

I've known of that particular Red HINDU. However, there have been some questions raised about this card by two veteran T206 collectors.

Four of the 6 super-prints have been confirmed with Red HINDU backs (Chance, both Chase's, and Evers). The Red Cobb and Matty have
not been confirmed with Red Hindu backs.

I am waiting for a 2nd red Cobb with a Red HINDU back to emerge before I am confident about this F/B combination.
