Default Massive Baseball Card Collection

Posted By: Jimi

I have about 558,000 cards going up for sale over the next couple of months. I have some time this coming week due to Spring Break on taps at my school, so I'm sorting away right now! happy.gif Rough estimates are as follows:

Baseball - 450,000
Basketball - 30,000
Football - 70,000
Hockey - 5,000
Racing/Wrestling/Other - 3,000

A great percentage of this lot are stars and HOFers as well as set starters. Not a ton of junk in this lot.

Baseball breakdown (rough estimates)

50s and 60s - a few hundred with no stars

70s - 40,000 cards with a ton from each year, very little high numbers, but thousands of stars, and a lot of it is in order

80s - 110,000 (don't worry, thousands of cards from the early 80s rather than late 80s) I can break this down for you later if you'd like since they are sorted in boxes by years and brands (just not numbers yet)

90s and 00s - 300,000 cards with some game used, autos, HOFers, inserts, serial numbers, cards in top loads (Not sorted very well yet, as this is going to be my next challenge)

Other highlights include thousands of 70s football cards, about 35,000 cards already in team sets from baseball, some unopened packs, something like 15,000 1979 Topps baseball cards and similar from 1980 - 1982 Topps.

I can e-mail you with more detail. Shipping will be atrocious, so I would recommend picking this collection up. Here is a photo to give an idea as to what is in store for you:

The binders shown are not all available as some of the cards have since been taken out and placed in these boxes to sort.

Most of the collection shown was sent to me unsorted and my wife and I have been sorting for a couple months now just trying to get them in boxes with similar cards, however a few are in number order, though not much. The 1979 Topps cards are and almost all of the 1980 Topps are as well as everything from 1973 and back.

This is quite a collection and certainly something you could use to sell off smaller lots or use to collect yourself. We are talking hundreds and in some cases thousand each of stars like Brett, Yount, Gwynn, Maddux, Jordan, Marino, Griffey, and every other star from similar years. I cannot see how you'd be disappointed. I may be willing to separate into lots via sport if you'd rather only purchase one of the sports instead of everything.

I live in central Ohio to give you an idea on travel. I'm looking to get around $7,000, but may be opened to offers. This collection actually does have more to it including unopened boxes, complete sets, and uncut sheets, but I will be offering them up separately unless you'd like to talk prices for everything.

Please let m eknow if you have questions!

Looking for $1,450 for the football shipped. It's going to require a few boxes to get everything shipped, and it will be very heavy. With about 25,000 cards from 1969 - 1986, that's pretty cool, too. LMK.
