Default Share the Knowledge--1926 Sport Co. of America

Posted By: Darren J. Duet

What I now of this issue--
Questionable legitimacy until recently;
Issue of popular athletes from the time period;
Among the few issues of the era;
Portrays Babe Ruth in his "hey-day";
Distrbuted in a glassine envelope with a coupon for sporting goods;
B&W photos on thin cardboard;
Advertising and Bio Backs with 1926 copyright with a couple of exceptions;
Examples are scarce to rare;
Appears to be circulated and uncirculated examples;
Some examples are cut-outs from Spalding Guide;
BMW has dealt with most of the known examples(Thank you Brian for your help);
History of issue is incomplete;
The 1927 Ruth I own and the one BMW posted are the only known examples with the 1927 copyright and Bio variation
There is a difference in my Ruth and BMW's Ruth back (placement of the "Nationality, American" line

Please share what you know of this issue, lists of cards you may own, and scans of backs so that we may learn more about this issue.
