Default Valuable 80s / 90s oddities

I just picked up a hoard of about 25,000 80s and early 90s cards

I know there are certain cards (specifically 91 Topps) where some cards are desirable. Oil Can Boyd is one I can think of. Also, I remember hearing about a contest card? With a specific date?

I think I read it here. Does anyone have a list of random little oddities I should look out for?

Caveat: Just because it's a variation, doesn't mean it's worth anything. ;-)

Then you also may have 1990 Fleer "printed in Canada" or some other oddball things and of course the 1989 Fleer Billy Ripken and Randy Johnson errors.

COMC is also marking most of the recurring variations now as people like Rich and I submit them as variations.

I submit a few as I find them but most of my time on this project is doing the verification of the information collectors such as you and Dylan submit. I can figure out about 99 percent of that but if something does not get entered, let me know and we'll figure that out.

I love being comprehensive on both modern and old. For example; We've added a bunch of 1971 things some of which I knew (Jim Nash and Jim Northrup) and some of which I had no idea about (Mike Marshall).

But keep em coming and I'll add them to the COMC data base.

Rich

Hi Rich,

I have a handful of correction requests showing as "resolved" but no changes were made. Do you do all sports or just baseball? PM sent btw!

I have those too: like the TCMA Famous & Barr postcard set they keep leaving as from 1916!!! Ugh. All that free work I do for them, and they treat it like a chore. I deserve some stock options by now. I have submitted 17,700 error reports so far.

Be careful what you wish for....... There's crazy people like me out here.

Comprehensive might just become a nightmare.
