If anybody has a '93 Boggs Refractor a decent price, please let me know! It's the last card I'm buying before I close my Boggs collection for good.

Finally got the Vlad Mirror Gold. Took way too long to find one at a reasonable price. Such beautiful cards in-hand.

Remember when SPX was a thing that looked like this?

Nice pickup Jason. I was at the Twins/Yankees game when the Twins fans threw stuff at him bad enough that they stopped the game and escorted a ton of fans out of the stadium. I think they even stopped beer sales in the outfield for quite a while after that.

Nice, got mine on eBay, they actually come up fairly often, at least a few times a year.

First modern card in many years, always liked this Pujols and it seems harder to find than even the 500 print run would indicate.

Great looking Pujols. 2001 was such an interesting year for the hobby. How often do you get dozens of legitimate rookie cards of a baseball player the year he debuts--let alone two HOFers? I always find myself on eBay just searching 2001 Pujols or 2001 Ichiro. So many beautiful cards.

Nice jeter I also like it better then the sp . I would guess that there were less stadium club made. I remember hearing it was also printed earlier ate not released. I picked one up two months ago. But it was not a 9.5 lol.

It's in the design of the 92 Stadium Clubs but it's called a 93 issue. I guess it must not have been released until the next year. If they ever change the designation, making it Jeter's only rookie card, that would be interesting.

Yeah that would be cool . It would then put the sp rookie in to the better second year cards category. I wish I was a bigger SP fan because when I was a kid everyone had one to ten of those cards in there case. I rarely seen the stadium club in person. I got mine for a great price because the corner was dinged. But I couldn't resist because I don't see them often.

Most likely produced in 1992 and released in early 1993.

This is the case. 1993 Stadium Club hobby only Jack Murphy Stadium set used the 1992 design and the cards are copyright 1992 on them. But the set was sold in 1993.

Same deal with the previous year, the 1992 Skydome set has the 1991 design and 1991 copyrights, but was shipped in 1992.

So some thing had delayed both sets so that they were not released the same year they were printed. Maybe it was the time it took to make the plastic stadium replicas?

Default 1998 Topps Sportzcubz

Finally found one for my Maddux collection. The 1998 Topps Sportzcubz has been one of the cards that I honestly didn't think I would be able to cross off my checklist.

What is the story behind, Knoblauch? I always thought he was a great player but for some reason I quit watching ball and only heard rumors which I never followed up on?

Digging through a bunch of cards I purchased back in the early 90's, I discovered this card. Happy to own it but I assume there are plenty out there? Looks/is OC but not sure if that is indeed the case with this card?

Also found many of the 92 Topps Stadium cards that I also purchased, but like most wax back then, I highly doubt much is desirable or worth anything, is it?

Short story: A bunch of drunken idiots in the Mertodome threw stuff at him.

Longer story: The Twins fans loved Chuck and he left them for the Yankees. He caught the "yips" and could not throw a ball from second base to the first baseman. It got so bad he even hit Keith Olbermanns Mom with a bad throw. The Yankees moved him to the outfield. I believe it was his first game back at The Dome as an outfielder and people started throwing stuff at him. They stopped the game for quite some time and threw a bunch of people out. Not 100% sure but I think that is what made them turn that section into the family section and they stopped beer sales there.

I sure do miss The Dome. Yes it was old but there was a game no matter what the weather was outside because it was 70 degrees and beautiful inside. Could also be it is a 600 mile round trip so I knew it would not be a big waist of time and $ like now if the weather turns bad on game day.

Thanks.

I did some reading too and found out he beat up his wife.
He was going to be inducted into the Twins HOF but that was cancelled after the assault charge.

Never knew any of this. Sad, actually, that he likely worked real hard to get into MLB and all went crashing down around him.

He was my favorite player as a kid, but was always rumored to be somewhat of a jerk. I remember an early story about him pushing a kid that got too aggressive wanting an autograph. Probably more to it but a typical Knoblauch story.

I'm always on the lookout for Knoblauch items but not much unique comes up.

Nothing fancy here for me, but I am new into collecting. I picked up a 1987 Topps complete set for $10. Mainly for the "Future Stars" Bo Jackson. I also picked up '86 and '87 Topps Traded sets for $9 total. I really want to get a Greg Maddux collection going so i figured that was a good place to start.

I also picked up a couple single packs of the 2016 Gypsy Queen set, not really knowing anything about the set, and I kind of fell in love. Great looking cards, and apparently there are some autograph cards in the set?

Yeah, he did fall pretty hard, but it is a cool card and I'm glad to have it.

He was a total jerk when he played for Orlando and was only in AA. Add millions of dollars and fame and they don't get any nicer. My twin brother got one of his broken bats and after the game there were just a few fans around when he came out of the clubhouse and he wouldn't sign it. Just walked by with his shades on at night.

On a side note I have never seen one of those auto cards. Very cool! The highlight of that season of the Sun Rays was getting to see The Big Hurt. What a monster!

I rarely get to post anything here but I nailed a Sportzcubz example as well. I haven't decided if I will extend my Topps type collection into the 90's but if I do this is a big one off the list:

Oh oh , Dave, post 80 here you come.

That is a nice item. Bought one from Shane myself , even though my odd ball limit previously was 1994

I have a bunch of the 80's baseball types already-saved it from when I was getting back into it that decade. Some day I'll probably look into it. I probably would not go past 1994 myself, it's just too hard after that to keep things straight. I pretty much have all the pre-1980 types in Baseball, Football and Basketball, except some Bazooka's. Hockey is getting there but some of those Non Sports cards can be tough to track down.

I don't do the OPC Non-Sports run (very hard to get a grip on what was issued overall ) but I also collect the types they issued in the four major sports. The hockey and baseball stuff is well known but their CFL sets are under the radar.
