Default Identification help

Can anyone help or know who this maybe?
What exactly is it? It's made from a thin copper sheet.
The back has some sort of clay on it probably to help keep it from bending.
Thanks

I was thinking maybe Ortiz, because of the beard. I tried searching for a pose or picture online similar, maybe there is a card of him like this. Could be totally off.
Could it be a Brooklyn Dodgers player..idk

Definitely Red Sox... on his chest is a Sox stocking logo. Looks strongly like Ortiz, with beard and maybe wearing visor sunglasses? Looks like he’s crouching like on an on deck circle. Or maybe he just had a biiiiiiiig lunch.

What’s the backstory on this that you know? Maybe that’ll help date it.

Thanks I see the stockings now. I think just about any meal Ortiz would have, likely would seem pretty big to most of us lol.

The story on this is my wife picked it up at Goodwill about 2011, first because she thought it was neat, second because my oldest son at the time always wore a redsox hat and she thought it looked like the B on his hat, and that maybe it would be nice to put in his room.
