Neat item Bill

Though we may not have realized it, Fleer was soon to be competing with Topps for the #1 spot in the 5 cent sport card market :-)

Hmmm, the 1959 NBC Marian Eiskamp card has never sold on eBay? I've never seen it before, and a search for Marian Eiskamp on worthpoint came up empty.

Anyone know about that set? I guess the writer didn't know about the Virginia Slims set in 1886...

Thank you for posting! I really enjoy seeing collectors newsletters from the early days of the hobby. If you have any other newsletters, I hope you will consider posting them as well.

I am attempting to make those a bit larger. Thanks so much to Bill for posting them and sending them over. Few of us have been in the hobby much longer....(not sure if they are in order)

Those are great. I particularly like the Whos Who in Cards and the write up about the 1960 Leaf set.

I have 34 issues of Card Comments, all of them that were published except volume 3, issue 10 (if it was published, and I'm not sure that it was). I can scan any of them if anybody is interested. I posted the cover story of the January 1960 issue in this thread: http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=221922

There is another copy I haven't got to resize yet but will try to do so this evening....I think it's pretty cool a member was getting hobby pubs before I was born (which was more than a half a century ago, for those counting)
