Default Finally!!! A, "Buy the Card, not the holder" thread by me

So I watch in amazement and envy of the cards posted with technical grades like PSA2 and SGC35 that look bright, ExMt and very expensive. I wonder how the hell these guys found these beauties? Well, I finally have one to post courtesy of an excellent Ebay dealer and longtime collector. Please share more of yours!

I couldn't figure this one out either but luckily for me I think most were looking at the grade as well.

I've owned three or four of this same card & think I've finally settled on one. This one has been graded as a two.

What I classify as corner wear, SGC must have decided was paper loss. The back looks just as nice. --Tim

I sold this one to Leon last year,

Some paper loss on the back, but looked great on display.

Wow Jerry, that Cobb looks great! I picked these up and still don't really understand the grading. There are no wrinkles or bends that I can see.

What this tells me, is you could still have a really nice collection with no cards graded higher than a "3". I'll throw in this "authentic" I picked up to add to our collective low graded collection.

Thanks, Dan. Your selection of cards there is pretty off the charts as well.

In fact this whole thread is amazing thus far. Finding cards like the ones people have posted here is like finding treasure.

Default Buy The Card...............

As far as buy the card not the holder, I think my best example would be this 52 Topps Mantle. Great cards so far fellas !! Maybe we should do a thread but do the reverse............

Smalley got a 4.

I did a small, guess the grade thread, and the Smalley won with most thinking it was my highest graded card, a 5.5. My 5.5 card, rightfully so, imo and others, was the worst card.

These are my favorite kinds of cards. They look great and don't break the bank. I sold my E95 set earlier this year. Had some blazers in it.
