Tom,

The "Flame Tempered" stamp near the certerbrand indicates definitively that this is a store model bat. An authentic model issued to the player would have "Powerized" stamped in the same spot. While Powerized-stamped bats can in some cases be purchased by the public, the lack of a Powerized stamp would indicate that it's certainly not a gamer, if that's where your question was leading. Also, P72 was not a model known to be ordered by Mattingly.

As for the signature, it does resemble a style that Mattingly has used in the past, but it is hard (at least for me) to say definitively that it's legit due to the angle that the photo was taken from.

I love it when sellers post in gigantic red letters how there are no returns, it's the buyer's job to thoroughly look at the pictures, etc. etc. When they spend much more time on warnings then they do on describing the item, I always get a vibe that they are someone I don't want to deal with.

Is this just me??

Nope, not just you. I rarely bid on items from descriptions like that.

Sellers - Tell me about the item! If I'm not interested to begin with the 3 pages of rules in large type aren't going to change that.
