To all veterans both past and present, thank you for your sacrifices which allow all of us and our families to live the lives we do. Without you, the freedoms we enjoy on a daily basis would not be possible. Again, thank you very much!

Commodore Richard Dale - Revolutionary War Era

Commodore Dale was saved early in the Revolutionary war by Commodore John Barry

The best part is Richard Dale is a direct decendant of mine, and I married Erin Barry a direct decendant of John Barry.

Gotta love those guys!

I know two guys currently serving in Iraq. One flies Blackhawk helicopters. The second is an ordnance expert. His job is to find the IEDs and disarm them before they kill anyone. They are in my thoughts today, as always.

Thanks for the comments. Coming from a former veteran, it means alot to know that someone out there appreciates our veteran's efforts.

Thanks Again,

I personally think that Memorial day is a great way to celebrate our armed forces and family. It's too bad that big business in general perverts the holiday as a way to make the almighty dollar. I think about all the people in our country that end up working at some greedy store at a "Memorial Day Sale" to make a buck for some corporate genius (all this time which the hippocritical corporate genius enjoys the day with his or her family). What an insult to our military enlisted folk and family. It's a national holiday and it should be treated that way for all individuals in this great country.
