Default Moonlight Graham...

Hey all,

I've been doing some research over the years on Moonlight Graham, and in the process have run into a number of images of the man. For the most part, they're of him as an older man, or with Scranton after his cup of coffee.

In that time, I've only run into these two images of him in a Giants uniform:

Have any of you ever seen any others? I'd certainly love to get some scans for my files. For future paintings, that is. But I'm just not too sure they exist!

Any help or info anyone can provide is greatly appreciated.

Graig

Graig,

Don't know if this is the same Graham, but I found this in a box of old stamps my aunt gave me several years ago. The stamps had postmarks from the late 1880s until around the end of World War I. I've never seen these stickers before; maybe one of our prewar collectors can chime in here.

I believe that there is a photo of Graham in a book entitled HUMOR IN THE MINORS. I no longer have a copy but it is a very collectible book and someone on the board must have a copy.

I think this is Peaches Graham, played for the Cubs in 1903 and 1911.

I have tracked down a copy of the book I mentioned above, its actual title is Humor Among the Minors, by Ashenbeck (1911) and between pages 96 and 97 the is photo of the 1902 charlotte team, with Graham (in suit). There is a least one other reference to Graham, who played some games under the name Wright in some games. It is available online, and apparently has been reprinted. The original is vry nice, great illustrations and photos and stories of unexpected players such as Graham and Mathewson.
