Default Mets Yankees Game March 10th

My wife's Uncle was honored during the 7th inning Stretch this past Saturday, he is a 93 year old WW II veteran who served under General George S. Patton. It was great to see him honored along with his brothers also

I have a neighbor who is one of the last living senior officers from the war. He survived a kamikaze attack that killed everyone else on the bridge except for him; he survived because his helmet protected him from the shrapnel. The other day I was talking to him and I noticed he was missing part of a couple fingers, so I asked him if that was related to the kamikaze. He said “No, that was the Battle of the Yamaha!”; Yamaha being the company that manufactured his lawnmower. He’ll be 99 this summer.
