Default Any ideas on this card? (PCL?)

Posted By: MW

I purchased this card along with a group of PCL cards (1920s to 50s). It measures approximately 1 3/4" x 2 7/8" Any ideas about what it might be?

Mike

Have you tried emailing Richard Lloyd? His email address can be found on the 1920-1950's BST board.

He is an expert on PCL. If this is PCL, he will know.

I'm not sure, but don't think its PCL. Not the same, but some similarities to the 40s Vancouver Amateur league cards - maybe a different year or another amateur league? I picked this up from Macrae - maybe he'd know:

It's not PCL... though I'm guessing Mike already knows that. I looked for this player in Carlos Bauer's PCL encyclopedia and he doesn't appear there. Unfortunately The Encyclopedia of Minor League Baseball isn't user friendly when it comes to locating a team unless you have a city. I spot checked a number of western leagues during the era Mike described and came up empty.
