Default a bit o/t but where do they get their pricing?

**This isn't my notebook and I have no idea who the seller is.
There are quite a few folks who collect old baseball related notebooks/covers. They display very nicely. This seller says this one is roughly 10% of the cost of a NRMT one. So a NrMT one would be around $4400? Really? I am curious where people get their pricing from?? I don't recall seeing a notebook, similar to this one, going for that much...but maybe I missed something?

Well, it's certainly a better deal than this one..

Any chance this guy is confused about what he's looking up in the book? Maybe he's got it confused with this one?

Me thinks that notebook cover was cut from a strip.

I voted that they get their pricing from the sports hobby fairies.

What you probably did not know is that these "fairies" are actually flying nanobots invented by Dr. Beckett himself.

Those annoying flies perusing the National aren't really flies at all - their sports hobby fairies.

I think we have discussed this seller before (and I know he reads the board). He seems to be a bit optimistic but hey, they are his museum pieces so he can do what he wants with them. I am leaning towards Hobby Fairies but I voted they just make them up.

Odds are 50/50 that the pricing is fairly accurate....but there's only a 3% chance of that.

I think their prices are derived from technical analysis, Bolinger Bands, MacD, and oscillators, of a random sampling of SMR prices.

Or in the case of the aforementioned museum curator, Visions of Sugar Plum Fairies. These fairies are no doubt distant relatives of the Sports Hobby Fairies.

Many sellers price their items based on a % or multiple of purchase price rather than 'market' pricing, typically because they aren't in it to make a living and can afford to wait on a sale. A lot of card seller pricing is aspirational--what it should be worth.

The prices of these Honus Wagner notebooks/covers make this George Sisler notebook that I currently have listed on eBay appear to be an absolute steal!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/170929621795...84.m1555.l2649

Leon, this is my first-ever shameful plug - sorry, it won't happen again!
