Bucky helped me coach today. We lost 11-8, but the kids played well considering the jump to a bigger field. We pulled off a double play on an infield fly rule call, nailed a guy at the plate on 8-4-6-2 play and had a straight steal of home when their pitcher and third basemen decided to have a conference without asking for a time out.

Somehow I missed this last wave of pics. Very nice.

Also, that Large Ass Cobb is pretty awesome. Do two large asses prove it as a legitimate variation? I think so. Objections citing paper loss or debris coverage are nonsense. Put it in the books.

"at the moment?" Who had him all through the holidays?? Who was responsible for Buckys well being and entertainment. I suspect he is being held hostage by someone pretending to be an american male. huuumphh! Probably a pot smoker too!!

There is a huge blank spot over there in Asia. Too bad this wasn't going on back in 2006-2007 when I was travelling up and down the west coast of Africa.

Awesome write up Frank. I heard a member say he might be able to take buck to Switzerland. Buck might like that? Thanks for keeping Buck entertained too.

Leon,

That would be me. I am attending an event at the International Olympic Committee headqaurters in Lausanne, Switzerland on Memorial Day weekend. I am not sure who will be there that weekend, but I do believe the President of the IOC will be present. I will make sure 'large ass' does not eat too much real Swiss chocolat (not a typo - French spelling/pronounciation).

Default Buck

I was having an amazing conversation with Buck about the early days of T206. how the various colors of the backs came about and why it took 18 years to discover the first T206 Wagner, and then I realized that Buck was pulling this stuff right out of his large ass!!!!!

I had the pleasure of spending the latter half of the summer w/Buck...we went to the all star game and hung out w/Lee Behrens of Sterling auctions and Brian Dwyer of REA.

Buck and I spent the weekend in Amsterdam(en route to Portugal)...this was our 2nd trip there...and needless to say we both love Amsterdam...we visited the Rembrandt house/museum, the Van Gogh museum...shared a spacecake and shot some pool.

We spent the 1st few days in Portugal in Albufeira...which is kinda touristy beachy destination in Southern Portugal. If I were to do it again...I'd go to a quieter...less touristy place! We had a good time...we bummed around the beaches...visited the southernmostpoint in europe and ate some awesome seafood. The water so damn cold it was tough to swim...just quick dips here and there.

I regret having slabbed Buck a few years ago...he is tricky to photograph! cellphone seems to work best.

We then headed North to Porto, the 2nd largest city in Portugal...where we explored the city...took a 12 hour boat cruise down the river Duoro, day tripped to Braga...visited the bom jesus...and ate tons of good seafood and drank lots of Vino Verde and Port!

We spent the last 5 days in Lisbon...we rented an apartment in Bairro Alta(that's buck on the balcony)...so we were in the heart of the action. We spent a lot of time exploring the city...we visited st jeromes Monastary, alfama neighborhood, st george's castle, the oceanarium where buck and I saw our first mola mola ...we just happened to be in Lisbon during the Vogue's fashion night out which amounted to the biggest street party with the hottest, best dressed women I've ever seen in my life...Buck was quite impressed too!! We day tripped to Sintra...saw the castle of the moors, pena national palace, visited quinta de regulareira(my favorite), visited the westernmost point in europe(cabo da roca).

It was a great trip...I'd recommend visiting Portugal to anyone looking for a european experience a little off the beaten path featuring great weather, awesome food...friendly attractive locals...and tons of interesting things to see and do.

Default The Travels of "Large Ass" Herzog (photo log)

Buck enjoyed three days at Universal. Favorite rides were the Hulk, and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. He skipped the water rides this trip.

Here's a few photos... He will be at Disney World the rest of the week. Note that he will NOT be running the #wdw46 challenge on Sunday with me and my son.

Very cool Erick. Thanks for chaperoning Buck. I hear he wants to make the Net54baseball Dinner at the National again this year too. So let's see if we can get him back here (Dallas) in the next several months. Buck has been quite the world traveler!!

What specifically do you do with a picture of Buck ? I can't imagine he's been to CT yet. Are you supposed to take a picture of him at something the state is known for ? This does seem like a very very interesting thread and a very cool idea.

Also is someone keeping a tally on where he has been and has a list somewhere ? Kind of like Franks MONSTER list.

Over the first couple of years I was grabbing pictures and adding them to a photobucket album. I was thinking about starting a blog-style website but haven't gotten around to it.

Here is the original post with the description. http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=135445

Since then it has morphed, in a good way, into something bigger, and more casual.
