Default Very Curious!? What's the Deal?

So I saw this on the Bay & had to ask,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/97-98-Flair-...p2047675.l2557

"Whats the BiG Attraction?"

imho... an Average Series, A Hall Long Shot(? But what do I know...) Thats a lot of Cash for what I'm assuming is a $1000.00 Card at Best...

Just gotta Ask!

It was shilled. There are many shilled auctions on eBay with highly inflated final bid amounts. This is done by unscrupulous sellers and their associates to create a false market and manipulate honest buyers into paying unfairly high prices. eBay does nothing about it and clearly couldn't care less. Penny collectors generally place this card in the $3-4k range. Bottom line: No one paid $78k for that card. It was a false sale.

Tons of modern basketball collectors would be very pleased to have that card in their collection.

Denny...Clearly the free shipping from Taiwan is what sold this card!

I don't know if its a good idea to shill up and set a false market value for a 1/1 card. If the owners of all the other 1/1 in the set did it, I guess you could then compare each player...if Hardaway is worth 78k, then what is the Joe Dumars gonna fetch?

Anyway, not sure why I posted, it really means very little to me if someone did or didn't buy this card.
Its still fun to speculate on what others may be thinking
