Default Gem Mint?

I just bought a PSA gem mint Dave Winfield 1981 traded card and it's off mint possible center on the back. How is a 10 possible?

Is the card an older graded one without the Hologram?

PSA does allow for slight off centering and maybe even more if it's on the back.

It does, but I don't understand how a gem mint card can be off center on the back. It shoud be a 9. It is the older grade no hologram.

If you are going to buy graded cards, you need to learn the differences between grading companies.

I've seen worse. I think one of the 75 Brett 10s is off by more than that. As someone else said yours is better than the 75/25 that's required.

"Gem Mint" is a grade on a scale. It does not convey that a card is totally perfect, despite assumptions to the contrary.

+1. Also, if your standards require good centering on the back of the card, then buy cards with good centering on the back.

Incidentally, I'm pretty sure they allow 90/10 centering on the back for 9s.

The same is true of "tilt" or slightly diamond cut cards. I've seen cards with noticeable tilt in PSA 10 slabs before too.
