Default Stupid question

Posted By: Ken McMillan

Hello,

This is probably the dumbest question ever asked but here is is anyway. For vintage cards E121's to be more specific, other than ebay, this board, and large dealers, where is the best place to locate product. I went to a show in St. Louis today and there was an extreme deficiency of vintage cards in any condition. the show had 120 tables of mainly new cards and stuff from the 50's to current. It was really depressing to think that they charged an admission to look at crap. I am aware that the majority of the hobby is new stuff, but what is the best way to locate vintage cards. Is the National a good source. I went to it once in the early 90's and at that time it was a gold mine. What about today?

Ken

Ken,

There's no such thing as a stupid question. I ask that question every day. I'm always looking for sources of old cards. This works for me, ask a lot of questions, find out who the vintage dealers are in your city. Then ask them where they get their cards from. Good luck.

Peter

Ken,

Unfortunately, I think you have answered your own question - the best places to find vintage material are ebay, this board, large dealers (like Fritsch,etc.). After that, I would have to say the auction houses (goodwin, mastro, rea, etc.).
