Default Watch "junk" from this ebay seller...

Posted By: Dave F

Looking at other stuff he has sold he has dealt in cards before..maybe not a whole lot with pre-war...but, it makes me crazy some of the stuff he lists he's able to i.d., then some of this fake stuff he is real vague about knowing what it is (or would be). Just take a look at some of this stuff he recently listed....don't want to see a thread started in a couple weeks from someone here asking how to get their money back-

here are a couple items-

Aw, come on Dave, it does say "Honest" in lower left corner ... happy.gif

I actually like his "disclaimer" on the S C G cards:

Clearly the grading service, "SCG", is one of these secondary grading services (numerous others), and the letters are very similar to a recognized service, SGC. I asked a legal authority on this, and he said that grading by anyone is legal, as long as it is an opinion, regardless who renders it. He believes anyone with a business license can make their own graded cards. He pointed out that there is no independent certifying body in the sportscard hobby, and even the more recognized grading companies are basicall self-declared experts who train their people without using an independent certification school, as far as he knows. With that I will sell some of these to determine their Ebay Value. One thing I can say for SCG, it looks like the grader did a very accurate job grading most of these cards (unlike most secondary services, who tend to overgrade cards to get more business). If the winning bidder re-submits these to recognized grading services, there could be a lot of money made here.

A bunch of hog-wash, but an interesting read (in a philosophical way)...

If there was a lot of money to be made there
this seller would have crossed them.

Authentic? hard to tell with very small one sided scans. Correctly graded by an actual 'third party' grading service? No way. I normally try to avoid calling power seller support, but this crazy enough that I may have to point this out to them. Try doing a google search to find out about this SCG company. Notta. This is all bs. Even an eBay search only turns up fools who can't spell (though I do feel sorry for them as I have done it before) and then stuff that this jackal is selling.

Methinks he doth protest too much. People don't normally feel compelled to offer lengthy legal theories to justify the sale of their trading card or Barbie Doll on eBay.

The seller told me he wanted to fornicate with me after I told him I thought he was being a little unethical. Real nice person.

The All-American Baseball Tourists cabinet is currently at six cents...I think the bidders believe this thing is real.
