Looking for any old photos or items with an "e" like this...circa 1907 era...

I believe that is a C in old english font.

Based on the old English font pic I found and a representative example, I think that If you look closely it is an "e". I would like confirmation if anyone else agrees or disagrees.

Was it common for colleges to use old English script in the mid 1900s?

The third from left guy's faded example DOES resemble the "e" you showed....the guys farther to the right, not so much but there IS some sort of horizontal flourish....

I hate Old English letters

That said though, is it possible that the shirt of the guy at the end actually says "EMORY"? Not sure if I would have even noted that if you hadn't shown the pennant, but just throwing that out there as a possibility (and having done zero research on the time-frame to know if that is even a possibility date-wise).
