Light My Fire is my #1 song, and you have it at #1006. Boy, we're not even close. Love California Girls by the Beach Boys.

Nice to see Eddie Grant in there (at about the right spot) , but "Gimme Hope Jo'anna" was a better tune...
Where will we see cuts from "The Nightfly"?

I have to admit that Electric Avenue is the only song by Eddie Grant I know but I will look for your song on you tube.

Barry,

At least it was on my list. Music is very personal and its all good.

Jim

Of course. Poll 100 people or even 1000, and no two people would even have the same top ten.

I am not sufficiently mentally organized to attempt a personal top 1000, but it started me thinking about what I really do like. I certainly agree with Jim about Steely Dan. Anyway, some of my favorite songs from the 60's-early 70's include:

Kicks - Paul Revere and the Raiders
Needles and Pins - The Searchers
Maybe I'm Amazed - McCartney
The End - Beatles (Abbey Road - as the songs flow together, I'm not sure where "Carry That Weight" ends and "The End" begins, but I'm referring to the segment where John, Paul and George each do brief guitar solos)
I Got a Line On You - Spirit
Cinnamon Girl - Neal Young
25 or 6 to 4 - Chicago

Albums include:
Poco - Poco
From the Inside - Poco
Oddessy and Oracle - The Zombies
Chicago Transit Authority - Chicago
Birthday - The Association
After the Gold Rush - Neil Young
Court and Spark - Joni Mitchell
Alone Together - Dave Mason

Spirit was a great band, with Randy California on guitar.

Do you know the songs Fresh Garbage and Topango Windows?

Yes - I have what I think are their 1st two albums - "Spirit" amd "The Family That Plays Together". I thought their sound and compositions were pretty original. Some songs had a bit of jazz influence.

Spirit are great, I have a CD with compilation of most of their songs. "Nature's Way" is another great song.
