Default Will this card be graded? (V100 w/ writing)

Posted By: DSGreen

I would like some opinions from some folks who are more familiar with the practices of grading companies, particularly SGC. The following scans are of a card that I recently purchased. It is a V100 that has been written on. It seems that someone wrote "outfielder" on the top border of the card. From the front (first scan) there is very little writing left but the indentation is clearly visible. From the back (second scan), you can see that this indentation and it appears that some writing is clearly legible. My concern is whether or not SGC will grade this card? It doesn't appear that the writing was erased from the front of the card, as there doesn't appear to be any erasure marks, but I am afraid that it may be graded as being tampered with. I am not at all concerned about the numerical grade it receives. Any direction from anyone that has experienced something similar or any suggestions would be appreciated.

i have seen cards with erased pen/pencil they will grade. but sgc does not have qualifiers so the best grade they would give it is poor to good.if it is creased probably poor.

But if you prefer an authentic label to a low grade, write "authenticate only" and they will honor your instruction.

Thanks for the responses guys. I don't mind a low grade, I would just like for it to be graded. I was just afraid that they may view it as being tampered with.
