I have only seen a couple of different Four Base Hits cards and thought it was time for a post. Hopefully people will pull them out and show the board these beautiful cards. Come on Leon, show the Kelly again.

Didn't TIK sell a complete set of these cards to someone recently?

Fred-I think you're thinking of the complete set of 1886 J. Wood Cabinets featuring New York. A board memeber did buy them....

Zach,

That's it. I believe that all the cabinets were of the same picture used on the team cabinet (as the one shown in the second post to the thread).

It was pretty neat to see something like that but then again TIK has some incredible offerings.

Oops, sorry to go off topic in that last post. I'd really like to see as many different 4BH cards, also.

I ditto Fred's post but....I believe the cabinets aren't the same image as the team cabinet. Maybe the owner can shed more light on them. I thought the players were shown without hats, the exact images used in the N167 set.

I know but it does get old...here's a few from other board members that I have in my saved file...I believe they have been posted before..I know a few other board members have a few too and hope they will pull them out and let us have another look..and if the owners of these two want to take a well deserved credit we can do that too...

Patrick:

The cabinet images are indeed the EXACT same images as the one on your Four Base Hits card...

and the EXACT same ones as were on the set of cards sold by TIK & TIK.

The HATS were actually ADDED to the team cabinet by the photographer. Probbaly made little paper hats and placed them on the proof and then made a photograph of that.

Although, there is a copy of the team cabinet WITHOUT the hats.

I have actually compared ALL of the TIK & TIK cards to ALL of the images on my cabinet with a magnifier...

and the ONLY difference is that some have been "flipped" so that they can face towards the center of the cabinet card.

Here is Buck from the cabinet slightly larger:

I can't imagine there are no more Four Base Hits scans that collectors are willing to share.
