Default Uncataloged Postcard Issue?

Posted By: Patrick McMenemy

I received an autographed Ira Thomas 4"X 6" item today that had been described as a photo, however, it on a very heavy and stiff paper. It feels more like a real heavy postcard than a photo. Scans of front and back are included. Any thoughts?

Thanks, Patrick

Default Uncataloged Postcard Issue?

Players typically ordered photos from photographers like George Burke, specifically to give to fans, and most would have been 4 x 6 and on stiffer paper. Ruth, Gehrig and others had their favorite Burke photos that they specifically requested for such purposes.

I don't know who took the Ira Thomas photo, but it might be similar circumstances.
