Default Sponsored Listings on ebay

I just want to make sure that everyone is aware of a 'new'(?) aspect of ebay listings. (For full disclosure, I have not done even a second of research on this topic.) There are now "SPONSORED" listings that automatically go to the top of your search pages. So, if you're like me and do searches based on "New Listings," you're going to constantly see the same (unsold) ones appearing at top, possibly leading you to believe that no one has added anything new. This gets confusing, because if you don't actively scroll down past all of the sponsored stuff, you will miss that there are, in fact, new listings to consider. You might miss something you've been waiting for.

You must be one of the test people they are doing that to. I can still sort everything like normal. The only difference is some listings say sponsored.

They even appear at the top of listings when you are filtering on "sold" items.

Not sure it is really new. You could always pay to have promoted listings. Maybe they just changed what it is officially called.

It is only annoying to me because you can see the same item more than once... usually just twice. The promoted listing and the regular one. They both go to the same Ebay page ID, so its not like it makes a different listing page. I get confused sometimes because I would say that I use ebay for looking at pictures or identification 95% of the time these days.

Not only are these sponsored listings at the top, but I can see them at the bottom of the search too. Highly annoying.
