Default 1941 Indianapolis Speedway Chalk Race Car....Let's see your Indy 500 items

 photo KittyCornerTagged_zps6dcc757b.jpg

Picked up this chalk statue of a race car last Sunday at Alameda...First one I'd seen...seems to have been repainted but the paint is hard like it's old...not sticky. Says May 30 1941 on one side...I imagine it was a souvenir sold at the race track...another figural for me...I think I'm going to glue some felt on the bottom of it...Antique motor sport things like this seem to be harder to find than athletic sports...Actually quite a bit harder...When I stop and think about it seems like I rarely see good antique motor sport things in all my travels...The few I have I bought...There was that Barney Oldfield sign I got on my Portland trip a few years back, link below....and the Beverley Hills race track photos I got at Turlock, link below...

I don't have any photos but I have a brick from the track, a couple foot long section of seating, a bunch of signed photos; Foyt, Sachs, Gurney, Andretti, Ward, Rutherford, the Unser(s),Johncock, Mears, Lloyd Ruby, Villeneuve, & others, a few vintage ticket stubs, a bunch of Carousel diecast (some of it signed), a rear wing endplate from a Target Reynard, a replica signed 60's Dean Van Lines Andretti helmet and great memories of the race before Tony George ruined it.
