Default Museum Project Completed/Negro League to Majors

I finally completed my project today. I started it in 2012 after seeing an exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The exhibit showcased cards from the Burdick collection of Players from the Negro League who made a successful transition to the Majors. I decided to mirror the collection, and collect each card shown in the exhibit.

The last card I needed to complete my project was the 1954 Topps Henry Aaron. Nowadays, it is difficult for me to use eBay or purchase on-line when it comes to high profile cards that are often counterfeited. I was fortunate meeting a dealer earlier this month at the White Plains, NY, County Center Show. I looked at a couple of cards, and we were able to make a deal.

My 1954 Topps, Henry Aaron card arrived today.

I now have all 22 cards. I included the museum links below, then scans of the other 21 cards completing the collection. ENJOY!

Very nice mid-grade set of pioneers in the baseball industry. There is no question the MLB and society at large are better for their contributions to the game!

Well done and congrats. The Aaron rookie is a nice way to top it off.

Great idea for a collection. Congratulations on the Hank Aaron and the 1953 Mays has long been on my want list. I think it is one of the most attractive cards Topps ever produce.

Way cool. Is this for just you or do you plan to show it off at some type of museum/exhibit?

Thanks to all for your positive comments.
The project is just for my collection. I'm always thinking of subjects to work on. I enjoy themes rather than random collecting.
