Default 1890 Professional Baseball Player Love Letter, Old Judge Player

Posted By: Rhys

I have a some love letters sent from the Girlfriend of Famous Philadelphia and Boston Shortstop Bob Allen to him while he was away on the road in 1890 playing with the Phillies against other NL teams. While these rarely mention baseball, they are a rare glimpse into the life of a Professional Baseball Player from 1890 and the envelopes are addressed to him as a "Ball Player" to the teams he was on the road playing against. They are pretty sappy love letters about how long they have been apart and how much this girl misses him etc, but really cool pieces of baseball history. More significant is that Allen is pictured on Old Judge Baseball cards both for Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

$150 each and I might be able to fullfill specific team requests (IE I would like a love letter sent to him while he was playing against the Cubs etc.)

These are the ony items like this that have ever surfaced from this era to the best of my knowledge.
