Default Saskatoon Gems 1953 CKOM Western Canada League cards

After years of looking, I finally found what I believe is a complete set of the 1953 Saskatoon Gems cards. CKOM radio station promo on back. I believe these were given out at the game. I'm guessing it is the only baseball card set with two hockey hall of famers Saskatoon Gems cards

Not many sets picturing baseball players in hockey jerseys either.

Just a little bit south of Saskatoon
Pick my guitar for board and room
Met a little girl, her name was June
A little bit south of Saskatoon

Me and Junny-Mae we got on fine
Till I had to move further down the line
Promised that girl I'd be back soon
A little bit south of Saskatoon

Went up to Nome to see the sights
Had a yen to watch the northern lights
But I had my mind on my sweet June
A little bit south of Saskatoon

So I caught a freight and headed back
Following down that railroad track
Kept a thinkin' of my honeymoon
A little bit south of Saskatoon

Me and Junny-Mae got a little house
Got a piece of ground and a few milk cows
We're gonna get a youngin' soon
A little bit south of Saskatoon

In the winter time when we can't farm
Me and Junny-Mae sit arm in arm
By a big ole fire and honeymoon
A little bit south of Saskatoon

What cool cards of Max and Doug Bentley!!!

It even includes their nephew (goalie) Bev Bentley!

They almost remind me of the legendary Honey Boy Steamer Maxwell card! The only card ever made of Hockey HOFer Steamer Maxwell was one of him playing amateur baseball in Winnipeg!

I think the closest to a baseball card of Lionel Conacher would be his Dominion Chocolate card (multi-sport “Athlete” set) which shows him in a dress shirt with sweater on as it is somewhat of a nebulous image and the back mentions how he is an amazing “all-around athlete…in every team sport-Rugby, Hockey, Baseball, and Lacrosse.”
