Default 1958 Topps Color variation ?

These two cards came from the same collection from someone who bought them as a kid so no exposure to sun or fading is result of color difference. One is clearly orange and the other red on #292 Ned Garver. Maybe not a big deal on this common but think if a Mantle had a red background that would be pretty insane. Any thoughts on this pair ?

Not all that uncommon in the 1958 Series...I have several different shades of blue on several Phillies cards. I suspect that the orange came from a later print run when the red ink was starting to run out.
