Got 2 cards in the mail today ---

Happy to have this one in a PSA slab (I think this card has a cool look to it . . . almost like a tip top bread card):

And now, what you buy on eBay:

[linked image]

And what you actually get in the mail from the USPS when a seller does not pack it properly with cardboard:

Adam, Great Looking Cobb, Do you know anything about it.
Thats a nightmare looking scenario on the Lajoie. Looks Like the Card may have survived.

I'm all over the Place.

I know nothing about the Cobb, Jerry (other than it's sitting on my bookcase right now). I think I am in a small group in terms of liking strip cards.

Isn't the Cobb cut from a notebook cover? I think that Scott & Leon had one or something very similar in their last auction.

That Cobby is cut from a notebook cover. I consider them strip cards.....and think they are neat...nice poses for not a ton of money.....(I had this one already but am showing it for comparison)

Great image of Peaches. Jeff, Hard to tell but, the bat looks sawed off. Or, does it appear that the background was pasted in over the bats' end by the layout guy?

Thanks, guys. It's tough to tell what the deal with the bat is. Here's another, better shot of the same image (Collins-McCarthy). The bat does look a bit unnatural.

A few pickups. After all the auctions and a flurry of activity on ebay, things have really slowed down lately. The Wolter is pictured as it left the seller, unfortunately a poor packing job caused the card to slide under the scotch tape. GRRRRRR

Someone gave this to me tonight. Kid's version w/only 300 pieces b/c I'm so short of time for these things. Also available in a 1000-piece 20x27 version. I think it's pretty cool.

Joe, I have to reiterate my concern about the Clown tangent you've gone off on. As I'm used to getting most of my collection from you after I realize the error of my ways, I'm not feeling the pull towards Tardy just yet. Is this something that will sneak up on me one day?

Dan,
That Johnson is sharp for a 40, from the scan I can't see anything wrong with it. Beautiful card...among many beautiful cards.
