Default Oversized 56 topps

Hi all. I just saw a nice 56 mantle up for auction that’s graded a BVG 6.5. In the description, they say it’s a “some what over sized example”. Anyone know what the deal with that is? If submitted to psa or sgc would it bounce back? Thanks in advance.

Funny you ask. I just got back my bulk submission that had 10 or so 1952 Topps cards in it. One that PSA deemed slightly oversized would not fit in the standard holder, so they put it in a tallboy holder. Going to look odd next to the rest of my graded partial set.
But that's my current experience with them. Of course, they could mark it factory miscut and then only grade as Authentic or return it to you ungraded. Since it's already graded BVG 6.5, I would attempt to cross it with a min grade of like 5 or 5.5. Then it either gets a PSA numerical grade or stays in the BVG holder.

I recall back in the 70's when I bought a lot of packs, an occasional card would be a little taller than the rest. Guess they had that issue for a long time!
