Default E107 Scarcity & Pricing

I've been watching e107 sales for a while and there can be a pretty good gap in the cost for a low-grade 'common.' Does anyone know if there are certain cards that were less printed than others from this set?

Also, does a Type I v. Type II command a premium? What about with an overprint?

Thanks in advance.

Jonathan:

I don't think it is a fair conclusion to say "less printed". Certainly, there are variations in the set, which complicate scarcity. But the reality is that for the vast majority of subjects in the set, there are less than dozen two examples around. Why so few were kept? Who knows. Why the ones that were kept seem to include some commons more than others? Again -- hard to say. But given the overall scarcity of any subject from the set, speaking relativeness is perhaps quite futile, as one small find can heavily influence all outcomes.

type I's go for more than type II's and yes, and overprint commands a strong premium.

Jonathan

The only thing I can surmise for sure is you cant get a common for less than $450.

Also the cards I've seen last 2 years for sale or auction is usually Type 1.

One other note:a E107 Plank seems to go up for auction often.
