Default 1939 Play Ball Joe DiMaggio

I was given this card as a gift recently for being a groomsmen in my friends wedding. He said that he picked it up at a show recently and thought it would be perfect for me. While I am very grateful for the gesture, I have doubts towards it's authenticity. The stock feels right, but the creases along the corners concern me. Has anyone seen anything like this and could offer some insight? Please disregard the back right corner, the card is not mis-cut, I just cut some of it off on the scanner.

Default 1939 Play Ball

You would get more expertise on this set from the pre war board folks , but the 1938 Play ball set is described in the Standard catalog as consisting of 162 ( not 250 as referenced on the cards back) The sample illustration in the Catalog has the front and back of the DiMaggio card in it and it looks like yours. The price range it gives for that card in the 2011 edition( which I find mostly off base on the sets I do foll0w) is $ 1,400/574/300

If you have authenticity concerns I would take this post to the pre war board as well
