Default Joe DiMaggio 1972 Bowery Bank Swinging - Myth Busted?

I noticed that PSA pop report has two versions of the 1972 Joe DiMaggio Bowery Bank. The first one, with the bat on Joe's shoulder, is pretty easy to find.

The second one, swinging, I have NEVER seen (until now). I finally saw one on eBay and successfully sniped it for around $20. I would point out here about curiosity and cats, but let's not resurrect that thread. We can just say that a fool and his money, well you know.

I was very suspicious that the photo looked just like the more modern Bowery card (1987, I think), but I waited for the mailman to prove it.
It arrived today, and sure enough, it is a 1987 Bowery card labeled by PSA as a 1972.

So, my question is: has anyone ever actually seen a legit 1972 DiMaggio Bowery swinging pose? Or is this just a PSA mistake?

No disrespect to the seller; by the way, they listed it just like the PSA flip said, and zipped it right to me after I paid.

This Joe D / Bowery Bank card I know for sure was issued in 1972.

The others, you speak of, I'm not sure when they were issued.

Looks like Ted's has a copyright date. Does the one in the holder?

Yes, the bat on the shoulder version is from 1972 for sure (I have one also).
The back of the PSA one clearly states 1987.

What would the regular bat on shoulder 72 typically go for ?

Send it back to PSA as a "Mechanical Error" on your next submission.

I might just keep it as a novelty; since it seems apparent that it was a mirage after all...

if my memory is correct, and I received all 3 copies to verify this when I was at Beckett, this card was issued in

1972 (The 1st issue)
1980 -- 2nd Issue
1987 - 3rd Issue

I'm sure PSA dated it correctly if they used 1987

PSA labeled it as a 1972 card, with a distinctly different pose as the original card. But in fact, the card is from 1987, and they just mislabeled it.

If someone is interested in a copy of the card Ted has shown (1972, bat on shoulder), let me know. I'm fairly sure I have a couple available to send out, if you can stand EXMT.
