Default Post your favorite Yaz items

I know I'm still new to Net54, but for those of you who don't know, I am a player collector and a passionate one. Those of you who peruse the football card forum might have seen my Gino Cappelletti thread and maybe seen me mention that I am a John Hannah collector as well. However, my biggest collecting focus and passion is collecting Carl Yastrzemski.

With that in mind, I wanted to start a thread for others to share their favorite Yaz items in their collections. I'll start it off by showing some of my personal favorites. For those of you who want to see more of my collection, here is a link to my Yaz Master Set: http://www.psacard.com/PSASetRegistr...6&m=33062&ac=0

I know this card doesn't have a high technical grade, but I love it. It was a Christmas gift from my wife and sons back when we were poor and I think it has great eye appeal.

The stamp is pop 3, 3 higher.

The 63 Fleer is a new addition. The 67 sticker holds tons of sentimental value and is probably one of my 2 favorite items in my entire collection.

'66 Venezuelan^

The signed 69T is my other of my 2 favorite items. I got it signed when I met him last November. Love the edge on the OPC Deckle.

Sealed set of 1971 Red Sox Team Issue Color

That's a 1978 Penn Emblem patch on the right.

Thanks Al, I was surprised there wasn't a Yaz thread already started on this site. Figured I better start one. You must have cool Yaz stuff to share!

I typically don't collect signed cards, but the '69 Topps Yaz card is not only a great looking card the signature makes it look even better; love it!

I personally keep trying to find a nice OPC Deckle for my PC, but can't find a nice one like the one you have of Yaz.

Thanks so much for sharing your Yaz collection.

Finally got around to scanning my cards from a recent Yaz private signing

For sentimental reasons, this card becomes the #1 card in my collection, and the last one I would ever part with. Christmas 2011 we didn't have any money, but my then-wife and kids, knowing I'd always dreamed of owning a Yaz RC, bought this card for me. Tons of sentimental value. Later it landed in a PSA 2 holder and there I thought it would stay, but I cracked it out to get it signed. Very, very happy with this one!

And this one is not only for my Yaz collection, but for my 74 Topps Sox team set too. It was a PSA 8 crackout. The Yaz makes 8 autos in my team set and I'm waiting to get back a Cepeda from a private signing that will make it 9.

I got one Yaz card signed for each of my sons as well and they selected which ones from their personal collections. One went with a Diamond King and the other with a 66 Topps. Both look great.

Default Yaz Photo

I have lots of Carl Yastrzemski cards, but my favorite item is this small, blurry photo I took of my TV in 1983. It was "Yaz Day" (10/1/83), and at 8 years old, I was devastated that he was retiring! So I took this photo, and I have kept it for the last 33 years. Thought it might be cool to try and have him sign it sometime...

**Edited 3/6/17 - I originally posted that this was his last game. After "Yaz Day", he actually played one last game on 10/2/83.

I made a big trade with another Yaz collector. The key for him was getting my 71 team issue PSA 9 and sending me his PSA 6. The key for me was landing this next card. I've wanted to own it for a long time and never thought I'd ever own a copy in this high of a grade.

Here were the other really key cards I landed:

The 68 Venz helps both my Yaz and Venz registries. I usually don't show back damage on my Venezuelans, but I thought this one was kind of cool. Some of you know that most of these cards were glued into albums. Here you can see remnants of that album and still make out some of the Spanish words.

Here are some other really good cards I got in the trade:

I like that the Burger Chef disc isn't oversized like most of the MSA discs.

Some OK cards:

And finally these last cards are just set fillers, all of which I plan to upgrade eventually:

Great cards and premiums posted so far! Here are a few Yaz items that I do not think have been posted yet (along with others that might have been as I did not check the thread as thoroughly as I probably should have).
