Default Latest Pickups Thread

It seems that pickup threads only pop up every few months in the modern forum, so I thought we could use a general pickups thread that isn't limited to any particular month. So feel free to show off your newest goodies here.

I've loved the 84 Fleer Glenn Hubbard for ages, and finally picked one up recently. My young daughters love it too. What a wild card. And I snagged an Angels team set to get an Ohtani. I'm a Tigers fan first and foremost, but seeing a guy like this who can pitch and hit at a high level is very exciting, so I'm on the hype train.

And I wanted the 78 Brett and 85 Gwynn because of their big candid chaw cheeks. I need to pick up a 48 Leaf Wagner one of these days, so I can display them all together as a triptych, an ode to Red Man so to speak.

I love that Hubbard card with the python, I read an interview somewhere with the photographer who took it, I think Hubbard was shocked when he found out the photo was actually used on his card.

I just picked up this bad boy here. An unopened box of 1980 Yamakatsu packs. They were one of the main card makers in Japan in the late 70s, this was their last set.

Put some more pictures and write up about it here:

The store I worked at just recently closed and I was able to save these from the trash. They are 30 inches square and printed on cloth. Now to find a place to hang them.

I’m a sucker for Bryce Harper cards in general, but I love the heritage and archive versions based on earlier Topps, Bowman, etc. issues...

That is a pretty sweet card, Matt. Are they rare?

I really like this card. Don't know why. It is supposedly a "super short print."

He has been in a tailspin since I bought it.

Love that Archives Harper. '84 Topps is one of my all time favorite sets. Was thrilled to see them throw that set out there as Harper SPs for 2012 Archives. I picked up the autograph version a while back, would love to get the one you have down the road!

Those are awesome. Had a chance to pick up several boxes of these in the late 90's. Instead i bought a few cases of the regular 89 & 90 DoubleHeaders.

Nice, Ray. The 2018 design has really grown on me. Glad they brought back the Future Star thing-a-majig.
