Default 1952 topps #152 Al Evans "Lucky 13" find

I was going through some 1952 topps commons and came cross this Al Evans with an odd "13" across his chest. At first, I didnt think much of it, but I had a few of the "oddball guys" take a look recently under a loupe, and they cannot tell if it is in the ink, or a stamp. One mentioned it looks like a wet sheet transfer, however the numbers would have been reversed. Here are some photos for your enjoyment. ALSO, here is one card in comparison. The "13" in question seems to have a piece either airbrushed/white out, or missing on the right side through his red collar. The second card pictured has a similar mark, but the red looks to have been drawn back in?

Weird indeed

I would think it's a stamp. Wouldn't be hiding this long if it was a true variation.

I have far less experience/knowledge than most on here but that's what I'd guess as well, Ted.

Interesting card nonetheless.

Agreed, some type of stamp, but 5 dealers in person couldn't tell if it was over the print or within it. Also, seems like an area is whited out on the 3, and on the final card the red line is drawn back and smudged in the same area.

Not sure what I expected from scans!
