Default New Member...Need help w/ '48 Leaf Babe Ruth

I'm a new member here, and I was referred that this is the place to go for questions about vintage cards. I have a 1948 Leaf Babe Ruth #3 card, and I need help identifying if its authentic or a reprint. I've looked around for tips on how to tell if its a reprint or not, and the only thing I came up with was that the reprints have the red line between Ruth's shoulders and the border of the card. I also did some research and noticed that there have been numerous cards graded by PSA/SGC that have the red line between his shoulders and border.

Other than that, is there any way to spot a reprint? I included scans of mine below.

The first thing I noticed is what you saw: his shoulders don't extend completely to the borders. Even if real, which I doubt from intuition and the general looks of things, you could do better in selling if sent in for grading. What stops you from doing that?...and all my stuff is raw, but that's what I would do. The you know, or at least have some kind of assurance for any potential buyer Others will chime in on what else to look for. Ted Z likely has a real raw Ruth lying around in his sock drawer!
