Default J.F. Hillerich Bat Question

I have this bat, it measures just under 30 inches long and weighs about 35.5 oz. Did they make bats this size back then or was it cut by someone back in the day? The cut is an old one. There is also a hole about 1" or so deep. I'm looking for any info this bat.

Default Cut?

I think looking at the location of the center emblem it looks cut.

I don't think I would have thought that if it was just a photo of the bat.

but as you mentioned it does look cut?

Yes I think it was cut at one point back in the day. Did players cut their bats back in the day to get the length they wanted? I don't think this bat was used by a child due to the bat weighing 36.5 ounces.

In order to get a good sense of what you have there, it would be helpful to see the whole bat. In any case, are you saying that the barrel has been cut back, revealing a hollowed-out core? How deep is the whole? The cut and the hollowed part are weird, especially for a bat that is 110 years old.

Ill post a pic after work. That's the thing I just assumed it was cut being that small. It might not of been cut. The hole is maybe an inch deep.
