Default H&S or H&B

many early bats are represented as 1911-15 H&B. bats. it is true F.W. Bradsby purchased all rights from J.F. Hillerich in 1911 but it took a court order in 1916 to have the H&B emblem put on the bats.

So any bat represented as a H&B bat prior to 1916 is in my opinion wrong.

Why would H&B be wrong?? IT still is showing the bat as being a Hillerich And Bradsby.

Default H&B

I should have used a different photo.
all I meant was the statement not the actual photo.
I will post a better example.

Default 1915 H&B bat dose not exist.

This is a bad photo but my point is that almost every auction house will advertise these mini bats as a cir.1915 H&B Louisville slugger.
No such bat exists.
Records clearly state that the center brand was not changed until 1916.
I assume H&B decal bats were offered between 1916 - 1922?.
looking through the records of Palm Feckteler & co. I cant find much but it appears to me the bats probably were not very profitable?. If they were I would think Ruth would have had one.
Another opinion would be that they quit offering these bats prior to 1919?
I have been trying to put exact dates to these bats. but at this time all I can say is before or after 1916.

Babe didn't have a decal bat at the time because he was a pitcher for most of it. In 1914 he played 4 games and only 46 in 1915

Auction houses get dates and other things wrong all the time
