Default Babe Ruth’s Final Resting Place

My father in law who passed in November is buried in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla NY which is also the final resting place of Babe and Claire Ruth. He always told the story of being a 10 year old boy and going to Babe’s funeral in 1948. After visiting with my father in law we went to find the Babe’s burial site which was in the next section over. Babe still gets a lot of visitors who leave all sorts of mementos. Bats, balls, hot dogs, cigars, beer, Baby Ruth bars and more are left for him. It was a beautiful day and sun was shining down on the Babe.

If you go to the Kensico main office, they used to give out a map of where all the famous people are buried.....Lou Gehrig, Danny Kaye etc.

Ted, it’s a huge cemetery but broken up into sections. You can drive right up to each section. There is a map on the website. He is in section 25 plot 1115. Once we were section 25 we just fanned out until we found it, the section is not big. Billy Martin is couple pots away also.
