Nelson That is by far my favorite "Plank", and from Lionels collection too! What ever you paid, It would be a bargain at twice the price. Curious...any paper loss on the back? Dave.

Default Had to have 'em

I'm budget conscience when it comes to my collections... in many cases I sell (or flip) in order to support the habit. I picked up the Rossman double name on eBay at a pretty hefty sum (for me), but what an oversized beauty it was. I haven't seen a comparable one come to market since then. I saw the next Rossman in an H&S lot, but again had to have it. Unlike most two namers, this one showed ALL of both names.

After that I tried hunting down the Rossman-Thomas two name when I realized that there was ANOTHER Rossman-McBride. Again, I had to have it. Definitely "overpaid" (or overtraded in this case), but definitely happy to have it.

Still haven't found that Rossman-Thomas. Have some good miscut tradebait available. Or any T206 Rossman miscut will do.

Adam, that Connery and Perez are fantastic. Apparently there is going to be a French film made about Perez.

Chris, I don't have a card to post right now, but I'm pretty sure that after the REA auction is over I'll have one to show you.

This E222 Hooker card is the most expensive card I have ever bought. I won it in a Mastro Auction back in 2006, before I retired - with the recent revelations re the Mastro Auctions, I wonder if I was a victim of shill bidding. Although I don't know if I would recover my cost if I were to sell this card today, I remain happy that I bought it, as it is the highest graded E222 and the only Hooker card in the combined PSA & SGC pop reports. And, being a native and life-long Virginian, I just can't resist rare cards of Virginia League players!

unless you are a dealer I don't think you ever need to worry you overpaid especially with AWH and cards that are that scarce

for what its worth there is another Hooker graded. I am pretty sure it was only graded for the sale by the AH. The consignor or myself probably would not have got the card graded. I think we only know of 4 total Hookers in the AWH set.

Default O'doul gem

Paying anything for this "gem" was too much.

"Happy" I didn't pay more.

In fact this was part of a "cheap" lot. I think I wanted one or two of the cards in the lot, but not this one.

Bidding starts at $0.01, any increments, free shipping (whoops wrong thread)

Nothin like an over priced Hooker...I've fallen into that category a few too many

I may have over paid for this, but I have no buyers remorse nor do I care. As far as I know, it's the only signed Gehrig DeLong in existence, and I've only seen one of DeLong signed.

Would much rather have this than a signed '33 Goudey. Signed cards of him were tough to get, a very short window.

The top two cards in this picture.

They were in a lot that a local shop bought, and I'd just finished reading the book of lists which had a list of the 10 rarest baseball cards. (How wrong that list was!)

I had to call mom and convince her to bring me the money. Not a long trip, but still a tough call.

Before I say how much, T206s were about 1.50 each, and Goudeys in similar condition were usually .25

These were $3 each. Totally blew an entire months allowance.

Awesome pick-up's, Al, I had no idea that those two were "on the market". There is at least one Baseball Hall of Fame rookie card collector that is going to be mighty jealous when he sees those.....

Jaime, great pick-up. I can't believe that Chris let it go. I was at the National with him when he got it. It was the best card for sale at the whole show.

PS- No wait, Richard Masson had a Wagner for sale. I forgot about that one.
