Default Anyone ever see this issue before - Pitt 1939 Football

Posted By: Keith

Has anyone ever seen one of these "cards" before? I picked this up in a large group of ephemera belonging to Emil Naric, a star for the late 30's University of Football team, who, after WWII, turned down an oppurtunity to play for the Steelers, to take a coaching job and full time law school enrollment at West Virginia Univ. The ephemera included a few signed checks from Emil Narick signed during his days as coach and I believe Captain of the West Virginia football team, and much more.

This card measures 4.25 inches by 2.75 inches and is on light stock paper. There are no markings on back. Has anyone seen this issue before?

I would be skeptical of it being part of Pitt Panthers series, likely because two or more Pitt different players would have shown up by now.
Pennsylvania is a pretty decent football collectors state. Likely part of an issue of star college players in 1939. If this can confirmed as being a premium issue and a true type card, a great piece. Hopefully some more turn up, but until that happens, no one can grade it or appraise it.
