Here's one of the greatest Minor Leaguers of all time. Buzz Arlett, something like a Babe Ruth of the PCL:

Leon, if you got that E222 Otey from Heritage, I was an under bidder. I should have run the price up just a bit more!

Jason and Seth, thanks for your kind comments. Seth, I was also an under bidder on the Otey card. Although I am basically not a set collector, there are 2 sets that I'd like to complete before I kick the bucket, but most likely won't - the 1925 Holland Creameries and the E222s, which have long fascinated me. Here's the rest of my E222s.

Default How about an NFL HOFer Minor League card?

Very rare 1919 Zeenut Paddy Driscoll. Only 3 total cards in SGC/PSA/BVG Pop Reports. Played 13 games for the Cubs in 1917 and then 39 games for the Los Angeles Angels PCL team in 1919. Then went on to play professional football from 1919-1929 and was voted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1965.

GehrigFan:

Great 1919 Driscoll.

Quick question. It seems like there is an underprinting in white to the bottom left, denoting a team of Sacro. (for Sacremento) as well as Zeenut Series 1919

Do you know what name it is? Curious if that is a one-off print issue, or if it is on all the (very elusive to find) 1919 Driscoll Zeenut cards

Yes, you are correct. Good eye! I noticed it but assumed it was a registration issue, but on close inpection, it does indeed read "SACTO" for the team. I cannot read the player name - looks like it begins with an "M." I have not found even another scan of a Driscoll anywhere to compare it to, so not sure if it is on all of them or not. Is this common for Zeenuts to have underprinting like this?

Curious. I wonder if Mark M. knows? I wonder if it is Daniel Murray? I think from the 1919 set, the six Sacremento players with a surname starting with M are McGaffigan, McHenry, McNulty, Middleton and Murray.

Default Double up on an Obak trifecta

Was housecleaning and found this scan behind the bedroom dresser...a couple of Obak players with different fronts for each year (1909, 1910, 1911). And in typical Obak fashion, they are pretty darn good looking cards.
