Default T206 Ferguson "Color Shift Error"

From the 'bay.
No idea if this is what the seller claims or not or even if that would make it rare but it was a 206 beater which fits my collection and it was cheap so I bought it
Any thoughts (other than you collect crappy cards) ?

I keep looking at other Ferguson cards online and the one in the Zappalla book and they look pretty much the same as this one. Am I missing something?

If you are referring to the small color shift they aren't too uncommon.

I can't even SEE the color shift, Leon! It must be very small
That is how the seller represented it. I got it for cheap cheap cheap so even if it isn't there it's still fine by me.

It has a very slight "color shift"(print offset), not enough to add any value from the people paying crazy money for print offset cards.

With my amazingly horrible photo shop skill I outlined the spots the print offset is easiest to see.

Default My da stink opinion

I don't think it is a color shift, but instead perspiration stains.

I'm all for cheap card pickups...so congrats!

Fergie is suffering from multiple color shifts. Fairly typical. Cheap is always good! Congrats!
PS I like the little blue? horseshoe type item under one of his armpits! I owned this little gem at one time!

Very slightly color shifts are normal for T206s. They had troubles aligning perfectly the color printing plates back then. In fact, one way to identify an authentic T206 is to look for slight misalignments/overlapping of solid colors on the borders, such as below:

Default drcy....

exactly + 1

slim,

great eye looking for the freaks....this --------the seller shouldn't have listed it as a "color shift" , altho technically it is, just not enough or dramatic enough to be considered or marketed at a premium for us "freak" lovers...

hello

I am johnny and am addicted to printer's scraps/ freaks in the T206 set....actually probably "obsessed" with them to a degree

I feel your pain with the old judges(o.j.'s), I love them, but they are very pricey even for a decent common...

hunt ebay and auctions for the hidden "gems" if you will.....sometimes you can get a 1 k card for 20 bucks if your lucky enough...

email me if you ever need any advice on these...I got your back...I will not bid on any cards that you found either, just want to help
