Default 1948 HOF Exhibit questions

Just picked up some of these REAL cheap and I suspect they are NOT original. Seller said his dad got em out of a vending machine in Pittsburgh, I think, in 1950. They are black and white w white backs. I plan on posting a scan, if needed, but does anyone have any info on how to tell what is a REAL 48 exhibit HOF series?

THANKS in advance.

Scans might help but if I recall, the real ones are off-white (not quite the sepia of the earlier exhibits but certainly not white). These were reprinted often in the '80s.

The reprints are two forms: an exact dupe of the original issue that has glossier thinner board with a bright white back, and a series printed later with some of the same pictures and different printing at the bottoms. The duplicates of the originals are very difficult to tell from the originals online but are obvious in person.

Thanks guys. Seems like I got the 74 reprint ones. Ah, they are nice anyways.
