Default George Kirby… pissed because they let him pitch??

I know I am about to sound like an old boomer here (am not quite, but close)… but I just read where George Kirby from Seattle is angry because his manager asked him to pitch THE SEVENTH INNING.

It wasn’t that long ago that bull SPs (Scherzer, Verlander and even skinny Chris Sale) would bark at managers who even thought about taking them out too early.

"I wish I wasn't out there for the seventh to be honest," Kirby said (via KING 5's Jake García). "I was at 90 pitches and I didn't think I needed to go anymore, but, you know, it is what it is."

Dude, seriously??

to be fair…he caught himself almost immediately and apologized for saying that. he was frustrated, probably embarrassed and pissed. at least he took accountability after the fact. teachable moment for a pretty impressive young pitcher perhaps
