I'll begin the game by asking a baseball trivia question, and whomever gets the correct answer is resposible for coming up with their own question and so on and so forth.

Who was the first player ever to reach 3,000 hits? What year did he do it in? Another player reached 3,000 hits later that same year-who was it?

Cap Anson was the first to get to 3000 hits, I believe it was late in the 1894 season. No one else did it that same year. No other 19th century player has 3000 hits. The closest to another 19th century player is Wagner who started in 1899.

but nobody else did it the same year he did, I thought. I checked the all-time list, and it looks to me like no one was even close. hmmmm.

I forgot about Anson...I thought Honus was first, and Lajoie was second, both in 1914. But you guys are right, it was Anson, my mistake.

Anybody else want to take it from here?
