Default So SGC will cross over cards over $500.

Posted By: Dean H

Hey all,

I'm referencing the thread about the Wagner and Anson cards. I'm sure the cards were not cracked out before being placed in their SGC holders.

I ask because I have around 5-6 cards in GAI holders that I want to get into SGC holders at the National and they are all valued over $1,000. I know plenty of other collectors who have had expensive cards crossed but I was just wondering what I can expect to pay and how it works to get them crossed.

I assume I would not use the cross over service but some other option. I do not want to crack them first even though I'm very confident they will cross but I'm by no means an expert.

Thanks for your help.

Dean

I had a 1930 R.P. Ruth crossed from a Gai holder to SGC. Came back the same grade (86). I did pay for two day service, but I would give them a call, they are very friendly and will work with you I am sure. Best of luck, Chris

i think sgc has one crossover fee. i've never seen a tiered fee on their submissions.
i may be off on sgc as i have never crossed an expensive card with them.
psa does not have a crossover grade that i am aware of. they charge the same amounts as if a card were raw.
good luck.

Thanks for the responses. I'm looking forward to getting them into SGC holders.

SGC's $500 value is established by you. So if you have a $1K card that you want to submit for crossover, value it at $500 on the submission form. Your only risk is loss or damage once it arrives at SGC (both of which are pretty darned minimal risks).
